Trust my rage

Tom and Daniel, thank you. I did try the Airport Utility with no luck, and I am certain I had checked the "Distribute IP address" box, but I will go back and take a closer look tonight.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I was thinking more along the lines of "Run Safari"

Oh yeah, that would be good.

See, I'm just too old and set in my ways so I can't Think Different enough....

I would pay $500 instantly for a touchscreen iPod with the full iPhone software suite (iCal, Safari, etc), WiFi, and a 160GB HD. I might even pay $600. The bigger storage is worth more to me than the phone features.

Yeah, me too. There are drives of the iPod type that are that big, I think. I'm at least hoping for something significantly larger than 80GB.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

An iPhone sans phone would be just about the perfect gadget for me. (Though I'd probably miss the ability to go online via the cell network -- not a lot of Wifi hot spots on the Brooklyn Bridge.)

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

An iPhone sans phone would be just about the perfect gadget for me.

This is what I've been saying all along! Since I don't use all that much hard drive space, I'd even settle for an off-the-shelf iPhone that would work as an iPod without phone/contract activation.

I need a hosting recommendation. I'm currently with ipowerweb (and have been for 6 years with my bjcounsels site) for hosting but with godaddy for my many domain holdings.

godaddy seems to have a lot of add on services and may be a bit more user friendly than ipowerweb. I'm looking to add autoresponders, a blog and podcasts to my site, along with very light retail offerings.

I'm finishing up the text for my new [myfullname]dotcom site and am wondering if I should switch to a new provider.

Any endorsements?

I found Godaddy's account management user interface to be almost unusably clunky -- took me ages to switch my domain registrations away from them because I just couldn't navigate the site.

I'm currently very happy with Dreamhost.

I've been very happy with jumpline.com, but the account I have at least is really more geared toward having multiple domains.

I have to confess to being overwhelmed by the choices and options. While I once felt fairly adept at creating html pages and moving things around the old website, nowadays I can't seem to nut out what anything means within the hosting options.

No idea how sql impacts me, for example, if at all!

If the provider doesn't provide blogging software, you'll probably want to have MySQL to backend Wordpress.

MySQL to backend Wordpress

This seems important. But what does it mean? I think I understand that SQL interfaces with databases, but what does that have to do with blogging via Wordpress?

Does it mean I get stats based on use? Or that I can send specific messages to certain users?
