Every nightmare I have that doesn't revolve around academic failure or public nudity is about that thing. In fact, once I dreamt that it attacked me while I was late for a test and naked.

Hey. New board.

The "auto drive" in Teslas is not the same tech as what is in the Google and Uber cars at all though. Much smaller and less powerful sensor arrays and software. The general consensus is that Tesla is actually being quite dangerous giving it that name.

Coding and Sleeping

Between a hefty tax return and a bonus, I decided to get myself a new laptop to replace my seven year old one. The old laptop still works just fine, but being pretty low-end never had the umph for real coding.

New laptop has an i7-7600U (thought about getting a laptop with a HQ processor but it uses so much more power), 32GB of RAM (I can use VMs!), 256GB SSD (plenty of space for my needs), and has two batteries for lots of unplugged use (long battery life is very important to me, I use my desktop when I'm not being mobile so I don't use my laptop while plugged in very much).

Looks like I could buy a much bigger secondary battery if I want even longer life.

I feel a little uncomfortable dropping $900 on a laptop, but with all the money coming in it doesn't seem too terrible. Computers are my primary tool for my living after all.

Hey. New board.

You go for it Gudanov! I just got a new (well, refurbished) XPS 15 which I love. Pretty awesome to have that power at my disposal. It's pricier than your quote but I needed to emphasize svelteness and portability a bit more than you might so I went for it.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I was forced to swap my work PC for a work Macbook when I changed jobs a couple of months ago, and I *HATE* Outlook for Mac. Almost as much as I hate Excel for Mac. Maybe more.

Anyway, can someone who's used a Mac for work for longer than 6 weeks help me figure out why the fuck 90% of the rules I set don't work?

I'm looking here [link] and not seeing anything jump out at me. I've compared the rules that work to the rules that don't and there is no pattern I can see. My Outlook folder structures help to keep me sane and right now I am going maaaaaaaaaaad.

Heading to Europe in a few weeks. Trying to decide whether to buy a converter or an adapter. Seems like a converter is better, but is it worth the money/weight just to charge my phone and iPad, possibly a curling iron. Thoughts?

If you try to use your curling iron with an adapter, not a converter, it could get explody and/or possibly kill you.

Your phone and ipad will be perfectly fine with an adapter, though.

I've gotten so used to electronics that can handle 110-220, I accidentally shorted out a heating pad on my last trip to Europe. I was ready to get snappy with the hotel room for not having outlets that worked, until I smelled the burning.

hip deep in pie

Use the money to buy a cheap curling iron in Europe. As others have said, iPad and phone chargers are dual voltage, so they only need the adapter.

The cup might get a dual voltage one, which would solve the issue I suppose
