Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Soooo...iTunes Plus DRM-free. What's the catch?

you are paying for the ability to make as many copies as you want. Plus its a slightly higher quality file.

One is that the TV is weirdly picky about seeing the remote signal (even the one that came with it) and it actually works easier when I point the remote at the wall.

Curious. I wonder if its a flat panel tv that is "flush" with bookcases around it? Maybe the IR sensor is partially blocked, and the wall bounces it to the sensor perfectly. Maybe DVD/Tivo/Cable box is too close and doing same?

Dunno about the power up routine.

SA, you can currently pick up reconditioned MacBooks for $949 at the Apple Store and if you watch they occasionally pop up models at $849 as well. I think from what you've listed that would be a better option, and for the cost of a copy of WinXP or WinVista you can have a machine that runs both operating systems.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

::whimpers:: I had just talked myself out of buying a new computer. Thanks for that, Drew. Now I have to go drool some more.

I'm loving the new dual boot systems. I'm buying two of the new iMacs and a reconditioned MacBook Pro in the next couple of weeks to run things for Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios. The software that runs everything is actually windows software for they'll be in bootcamp with WinXP Pro the whole time.

Drew, you aren't looking to pass on any of your older machines, are you?

The machines that I'm replacing are all only PC's and they are pretty beat up desktops.

Gotcha. I've talked myself out of buying another computer again. As long as this is still working I'm going to use it, I think. that's the sensible thing to do.

The only used Mac laptop that I've got right now is my 17" Powerbook G4. It's a 1.33 GHz 17". I believe it currently has 512MB of RAM and an 80 GB hard drive.
