Domain names and redirecting to existing urls and associated emails: how hard is it? Most specifically using the new domain to route new email addresses to the old destinations. As in, my work email is long and hard to convey, but if I found a shorter one, what's the process and difficulty in resolving the two?
Depends on where the new domain is hosted, but typically they provide pretty easy-to-use tools to forward email.
Well here's a thing, and maybe it impinges on Typo Boy's slowness problem:
Microsoft is downloading Windows 10 to PCs, even if you don’t “reserve” a copy
The downloaded files take up 3.5 - 6 GB of space, and just sit there... waiting...
So far it only affects machines that are set to automatically upgrade, and there is a fix to remove them mentioned in the article. It's easy enough, but you can't just delete them. You have to uninstall the update as well.
I just ordered a laptop with a 256GB SSD, an i5 processor, and 8GB of RAM. Between Amazon gift cards and credit cards rewards point, the leftover total was $88.
I am excite.
My Excel wizardry has reached its limit. I have a very complicated spreadsheet with lots of cross-referenced data, and a set of data model-built pivot tables which are pulling in data from three separate tables.
Today I built a new table to cross-reference the source data in a different way, and now suddenly my pivot tables aren't working. The error message I'm getting comes up twice and says:
"The query did not run or the data model could not be accessed. The string '8/25/2015' cannot be converted into the date type."
I've Googled this error message and absolutely nothing helpful is coming up. What I want to know is how I can find this problematic string so that I can fix whatever it is. This spreadsheet is FULL of dates, and that one appears many times over multiple columns across several tabs - I've looked for as many versions of it as I can and none of them seem to be doing anything differently than they were this morning!
Update:
I've deleted the new table and the error message is still there. So it's not that. ARGH.
Stranger and stranger...
I replaced every instance of '8/25/2015' with '8/24/2015' and it's still giving me the IDENTICAL error message, even though this spreadsheet no longer contains any cells with '8/25/2015' in them.
Omins- if you are here, I am wondering if you know anything about assigning tasks in Wunderlist. I made the list and shared with my students, but the only person I can see to assign tasks to is me!
Otherwise it seems to be working, but I have to email the student to tell them what I want them to do
Nevermind- I figured it out!
