Si monumentum requiris, circumspice.

It puzzles the hell out of my why Apple maintains a system of numbered operating systems and a matching system of named operating systems, but refuses to tell owners of Apple computers what the name is.

I go "about this Mac" and I can clearly see I'm using 10.8.5. I don't know what the name of that is. I have to go to Wikipedia to find out.

Is it because of Internationalisation? Is Snow Leopard called "Escargot de Niege" in French? I"m baffled.

You're supposed to have a telepathic connection with the operating system.

I just want to say this conversation is making me so happy to see you, John.

I don't recall if it was true in Mavericks but "OS X Yosemite" is the first line of the about box on 10.10.

All is well that ends in pizza.

It's quite puzzling. Apple ran out of large cats, went to horses, then to a national park.

What's next? Birds of prey? Apple Boundary Waters Canoe Area? Apple Yellowstone?

Maybe they need to go with another order instead. Primates? Starting with Apple Pygmy Mouse Lemur and building up to the great apes.

Mr. Scola’s wardrobe by Botany 500

They went from big cats to landmarks in California.

Compassionately intolerant

Apple Boundary Waters Canoe Area?

This made me snort.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I get that it's much more legally protected and thus better but if they go from Joshua Tree Monument to Joshua Tree National Park, I'm switching to Windows.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I"m still mad they never had an OS X Hairless Cat. And I'm not the only one to think that:

OS X Sphynx

Although I disagree with some of the text there....
