Quisp: Actually, that didn't quite work. I could watch the video in the Videos app, but it still wasn't available in iMovie for editing. I copied it into the iMovie folder under the iCloud Drive on my PC, and that did the trick.

Got a question about technology? Ask it here. Discussion of hardware, software, TiVos, multi-region DVDs, Windows, Macs, LINUX, hand-helds, iPods, anything tech related. Better than any helpdesk!
BTW, Jon, thanks for suggest pyTivo to me. I found a forum with a page that took me by the hand through the installation, and it's working like a charm! (I just have to remember to not let the computer go to sleep while I'm transferring.)
Great! I've got pyTivo on my Synology server now, and I couldn't be happier.
So I'm selling our old iPhone 4s's on eBay and someone has asked me, "Could you send me the MEID number so I can see if will work on my service?" This thread on eBay makes me nervous to give out this information. Anyone have any knowledge on this subject?
FAQ: Why should I not share my ESN / IMEI / MEID publicly? > Swappa
But then the answer just talks about not sharing your ESN number.

I really don't know about this stuff--I just googled. The link looks similar to what people on the eBay thread are saying.
Eh, I just told him I'm not comfortable giving out the MEID number, but if he tells me what service he has, I'll check for him.
I just looked at the new Note in Best Buy and I'm still drooling - even the 10"one.
I think I will probably end up buying a Note 4 eventually, just because my Note 2 is starting to behave strangely occasionally. I don't love that Samsung's entire philosophy seems to be throw-features-at-it, but damned if I don't love the S-Pen side of it too much to give up. And the fact that it's some of the most capable hardware out there, with an absolutely gorgeous screen, is going to keep me in the family for at least one more generation.

My Blu-Ray player is dying - what brands do people like? This one was a Panasonic and is just barely 3 years old, so I'm leaning towards Samsung or LG. I don't care if it has apps, but I would like it to be able to update firmware over the internet and play 3D discs.
