I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I am trying to set up Family Safety settings on mac's pc - it is Windows 8. Anyone care to help? I thought I had it set up fine and was just reducing his available time on it, but I do not think the settings are working at all, and NOW I cannot access any website from his account. I can from my account, but from his it says something about proxy server.

I am going to bed, but need to get this fixed tomorrow or Monday.

I read a little online and some people were saying that other software that comes pre-installed on some computers will counteract with the Windows Family Safety. I think there is some Norton or McAfee or both trial things that came pre-loaded that I should probably delete or purge or exorcise. again need help.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I was just told that the Roku stick only connects to Plex servers, but I gave up on Plex and use Twonky instead. So it's not nearly as attractive as ten minutes ago. The only commercial streaming service I use is Netflix, and I have multiple ways to get that on my TV already, so.

OK, so, bought a Chromebook, the Acer C270 I think. It came yesterday, I plugged it in to charge it up overnight, I haven't been able to get it to start up. No power light, no battery status, no nothing. Is there something everyone but me knows to do to get these things ready to work? Like pulling the tab out of a battery or something?

...wow, these words mean nothing to me. I like my Roku, but haven't used it much, except to watch multiple episodes of Veronica Mars on Amazon Prime? But I also haven't been home with free time to watch random TV, much (that isn't on my TiVo waiting for me to watch it)?

I think there is some Norton or McAfee or both trial things that came pre-loaded that I should probably delete or purge or exorcise.

I hate pre-loaded things. Ugh.

Hey. New board.

I apparently meant mediahouse last night, not mediahome.

Why doesn't iOS have swype?

Hey. New board.

I had to look that up.

It's insanity. I don't even like swipe based typing (I use SwiftKey with the gesture typing turned off on Android) but lots of people do. And more importantly the apple keyboard is just awful. I can barely use my wife's iPhone.

There are plenty of equally awful Android keyboards too, and even the default Google one is pretty mediocre (though I would say it's better than iOS) but I do like having a choice.

Argh. Acer Outlet "does not have a technical support department to assist regarding the matter [of the Chromebook not turning on]." I "may try to reset the unit to the original manufacture setting and see if the system will reset back to normal."

I am at a complete loss. I don't know how to reset the unit, or what that could possibly accomplish when it doesn't even power up. I can't find anything that looks like battery access.

Does anyone have one of these that works? Acer C270
