Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

So I ended up getting a 15" RMBP off-the-shelf. It's the one with 16GB RAM and 500GB SSD.

Very shiny! Although everything appears too large. Guess I gotta mess with settings a bit.

eta: Huh. Using a scaled down resolution rather than what's supposed to be the best for the Retina Display looks better, size-wise.

eta²: Gods, my old MBP was getting slow. It's so nice to have a 'puter that scrolls smoothly while using Feedly and Facebook.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Ugh, Android podcast managers are CRAP. Downcast, why have you forsaken me?

Unless I'm missing something, BeyondPod doesn't have a way to rank podcasts for smart playlists unless I create categories for each one.

DoggCatcher *kind of* has this functionality, but it doesn't work as well as Downcast did, and the interface is hideous.

Basically, what I want is the ability to set priorities and then put feeds into a playlist that will always play the oldest unplayed highest priority podcast next. Downcast did this beautifully. I haven't tried PocketCasts yet because it doesn't have a free trial version.

I also want the ability to skip forward and back in 15 or 30 second intervals to get past ads and boring bits.

Help?

Hey. New board.

Jessica, Pocket casts can do the skipping but not the priority ranking as far as I can tell. That is a pretty cool idea that I would probably use so let me know if you do find one.

Hey. New board.

You could try Podtrapper. It is pricey but there is a free trial on their website

Edit: never mind it sucks.

Ha, thanks for the quick feedback!

I will keep looking and let you know, but I'm guessing if there were an Android app as good as Downcast, someone would have blogged about it by now.

Yeah, they've been talking about it for a while, but it'll sill be months while the airlines come up with "plans" and submit them. I will be super excited when it actually happens though
