Jesse,
couple of things: she may have location services turned off for certain apps. Google's app is NOTORIOUS. When I turned off location services for that app, I actually had battery life. Before, that fucker was running down my battery from 100% to 20% in like 90 minutes.
She may just need to go to Settings and Location Services and turn them off for particular apps.
I really like PocketCasts on Android.

Cool, I'll try that. Thanks!
Ok, the Note 3 is a big HELL YES from me. I'm not a huge fan of the faux-leather back, but that SCREEN! And at least the plastic fake leather is more comfortable to hold than Apple's sharp metal/glass corners. (Which I've hated ever since I upgraded to the iPhone 4. The 3/3gs was so much more comfortable to hold.)
Woot! Hopefully I can settle for vicarious Note 3 thrills and just love my perfectly fine Nexus longer.
I've been tasked with finding this cable [link] with black and white conductors instead of black & red. Any ideas on how to conduct that search? Usually cable descriptions only include the jacket color, not the conductors. Audio peeps?
Plants vs Zombies 2 isn't out for Android yet?? They need to fix that by my birthday or I will go into severe withdrawal. Per the interwebs, it's available in Australia but not the US. FIX IT, POPCAP.
All the other apps I use regularly seem to have either exact Android counterparts or good options for replacements.
Hopefully I won't decide after a week that it's too big to hold comfortably in one hand on the subway. (But the GS4 and HTC One are both very nice phones too, if so.)
Learnt about the Note today--the Samsung keyboard has a setting that crowds all the keys to one side to make it theoretically more easy to type one-handed.
How does that work, Note-users?
Halp. CJ has lost his iPhone, probably in the parking lot near our dojo. While I had downloaded Find My Phone, apparently we never fully set it up, so I can't track it that was. Is there another way to find it by GPS?

Try Belden 8460

SuziQ, do you two have "Find My Friend" app installed? It's a little "big brothery", but it's handy. Especially in times like this.
