I confess, I do not use RSS readers. I've heard y'all talking about the google one leaving, and the tales of woe. Saw this article in cnet, thought I'd share: [link]

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I need some PC help. Mac has a pc, a %^&$% windows 8 PC and we have downloaded the DC Universe Online game to it. Specifically to his user desktop which has parental control on it. We have never been able to access the game directly. Clicking on the Launchpad icons that showed up with install opens an IE window that shows only a pic of the launchpad icon (same size as icon on the desktop) and the web address bar reads with the drive pathway where we told the game to download on the C drive. Help? ideas?

I am on with DC Universe support web chat, but they seem utterly confused.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

What is the drive pathway in question?

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck.

Tivo is grey-screening again. Weaknees repairs come with a 6-month warranty, and mine was done 7 months ago.

I think reformatting is probably not going to help at this point, so I need to either replace the hard drive or ditch Tivo for the cable company DVR. Apparently you can now record 10 shows at once on those, so that's something.

Cablevision DVR is installing (thank goodness for having a car) and Weaknees just emailed back to say my warranty is good until the end of the month - apparently I can't count. So one way or another I'll be able to watch TV this week.

I wonder if Weaknees would extend the warranty an extra month so I can deal with this after vacation. I don't want to risk having it fixed and then shipped back while I'm on vacation.

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

Basic tech questions:

Right now I don't subscribe to cable, although I am getting broadcast via the cable line and I have no other antenna otherwise.

I'm considering getting Internet via Comcast since my AT&T DSL just finally reset its price after the 12-month special.

I know I would have to finally upgrade my modem and would probably purchase one vs paying $7/month for the Comcast one.

1) I assume I can get a cable modem that would be wireless and that I could install myself, correct?

2) Would I still be able run the cable to my TV and receive free broadcast?

3) Would I need any other equipment/attachments to do so?

Any info would be appreciated. The DSL speed has been fine, but it occasional cuts out for a second, which is annoying but I could live with at the lower subscription rate. I think the cheaper bill and speed I could get at the Comcast intro special would make it worth investing in a new modem. But I don't really want to lose broadcast to do so.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

megan,

Comcast might be able to give you a 12 month deal on cable and Internet. Have you looked at their prices? You might find it pretty affordable.
