Yahoo emailed me a while ago. I let it ride for a while, and then just said I was going to move everything to Flickr. They said, "Ok! We'll let you know when it's done!" and ta-da! I had a Flickr pro account for a month because they moved everything over in the sets I'd had on Yahoo. I went in and did some rearranging and deletion, and am back to the three sets for free.

I don't hate Flickr, and it's easier to access than Photobucket for me. I've never dealt with Snapfish or Shutterfly, though. And I have a Kodak account, in fact, I dl pictures from the camera with Kodak gallery, but Flickr's easier for me to use online.

I wouldn't want to resize, really, since once I have something uploaded I pretty much discard it. But I don't have all that many pictures anyway.

Well, most of the uploader tools give you the option to group resize. If you're uploading your 5MB photos as you got them, you hit hte limit pretty quick

at the very least, I couldn't transfer all of my photos over there at once.

They'll do it for you. At least, they did for me.

I avoided Flickr until I got high-speed internet access. Now I like it a lot. The up side to migrating from Yahoo! to Flickr is that you get three months of paid ("pro") status. The downside is that free accounts only display the latest 200 pictures. If there are other advantages to a paid account, I can't remember them. Mostly what I like about Flickr are the bells and whistles -- the search functions, the tags, and the maps.

I have pictures at Photobucket, too. Uploading is not as easy and navigation is clunkier, but it works, and it's free. I keep meaning to create a bunch of folders and upload the rest of the pictures from my genealogy archive there, but it keeps slipping down the to-do list....

What frustrates me about Flickr is that it's a pain in the ass to click through someone's photos unless you do it as slideshow. I'll have to check out Picasa.

I have a kodak gallery - catch you have to order something once a year. last year I got some picture printed for gifts. I may do CD archives this year I also have stuff on yahoo to move.

I just keep my mouse over the thumbnail of next picture of the set or of the whole stream and keep clicking. You can also page through bigger copies where you can see the title and maybe even a description.

I like Flickr. I did end up going pro, because I hit the limit of what I could do with the free account, but I think it's a reasonable expense for a software I use pretty considerably.

I do like Picasa, and I like the Windows software they offer. But flickr got to me first, I guess.
