I use the Fujitsu ScanSnap at work and at home. I mostly scan documents but I think it would work well for photos as well.

I get really frustatrated with cell phones because various coordination and nerve injuries and eye problems make them very tough to use. If I ever decide to get a tablet anyway, is there a tablet out there that can double as a primary cell? Like can an iPad or a high quality Android with a blue tooth head set work? Would you have to get a generous data plan and use Skype in or Google Voice something? Or do some of them take Sim cards and actually work on one of the conventional cell networks?

Sumo wrestlers in Japan use Ipads as phones because their hands and figures aren't so nimble for regular phones.
You can use google voice or skype for phone calls on an ipad with a data connection. There are probably other VOIP apps on iphone or android.

You can get a Galaxy Tab with a SIM and plug in the same headphone you'd use with your phone--my sister uses Google Voice and VOIP to have an American phone number in Jamaica, and she's in heaven with her Toshiba Thrive, which doesn't even have a SIM.

Does this mean that you have to store your data in the cloud? I mean, a lot of companies wouldn't want their assets being stored with a third party, and in some cases, might be legally prevented from doing so. And there are a lot of freelancers who do work for companies in direct competition with each other, and need to keep their documents strictly segregated.
