Got a question about technology? Ask it here. Discussion of hardware, software, TiVos, multi-region DVDs, Windows, Macs, LINUX, hand-helds, iPods, anything tech related. Better than any helpdesk!

See and I was thinking of if statements. Concatenate would work just fine.
I think I have finally beaten the Excel query into submission. Of course my frustration with it spurred me into putting more time in after I had submitted my timesheet, so that will become Saturday time. If the recipients don't like the results, they can stick it.

Yeah, I was thinking IF, too, but without actually seeing the data and how its arranged I'd have a hard time formulating something helpful.
Stick it to the man, Suzi! By working more than you meant to...that'll show 'em.

I purchased a Lacie Cloudbox NAS. Not a RAID system. Just wanted an iTunes server. My computer is consolidating my library on the new 3 TB drive. The progress bar is a thin sliver of green, and it's been nearly 2 hours now. I get the feeling this will be going when I come home from work tomorrow. Now to figure out how to get the AppleTV to see it directly. The Xbox has no problem. We shall see if I can figure it out.
ETA:
when I woke up this morning, the progress bar was about pinkie wide. I think it's started on the video stuff now. Which is about a TB worth.

WTEVERLOVING FUCK.
Google is dumping Google Reader, the one thing that keeps me sane during the work day (aside from here):

There are no alternatives!
Nah, just kidding. But I get why they want to consolidate. How much penetration does RSS have into non-tech savvy users? I did get someone email me telling my provocateuse RSS was down, but I'm filing them as passive aggressive, since it's not down--I just haven't updated in a millenium. I hope they appreciated the one new record after I responded.
I should check web logs, though.

Oh no! I love google reader, and don't want to explore alternatives! (But what are they? )

 But what are they?
And can I get to them through our firewalls?

Joining the chorus of woe. I don't want to have to migrate my feeds or whatever, though presumably someone will make that easy, right?

I am sort of still annoyed about migrating from bloglines!
