Got a question about technology? Ask it here. Discussion of hardware, software, TiVos, multi-region DVDs, Windows, Macs, LINUX, hand-helds, iPods, anything tech related. Better than any helpdesk!
Follow up...probably dumb question...is there any benefit to connecting the mac mini to an hdmi hdtv when I don't intend to use the tv part?
I found a visio 24" hdtv at Costco that comes with extended warranty, etc. for not much more than a Samsung 24" LCD monitor.
Would one be better than the other?
I think a 24" lcd monitor would have higher resolution than a 24" hdtv. Other than that I don't know.
I use an oldish 30" HDTV as a monitor for my Raspberry Pi.
A TV will probably be 1920x1080 while the monitor will probably be 1920x1200. I suspect a Samsung monitor will give you a better screen too.
Thank you!
I felt I should just have gone with the Samsung while I was there, but I'm so paranoid about making mistakes, I couldn't pull the trigger.
only works if it is turned almost to a 90 degree angle to the desk and no one breaths on it.
Sounds like it could be a bad cable or port or loose connection. Worth checking, anyway.

My first thought.
I unplugged everything, replugged, adjusted...several times, to no good effect.
It might be a broken wire or something but I don't have the expertise to discern that.
My new mini will arrive on Wednesday. I'll try this monitor...it might be a bad video card...or something.
I've purchased quite a few LCD monitors from Geeks.com over the years. At any given time I have at least 15 of them around. Usually they are refurbished, but I've had pretty good luck. Here is their current list of 23" LCD panels.

So, what is the purpose of the "digital booklets" on iTunes? I don't really get why I should want them if I don't want to buy the whole album?
Brilliant, ND.
That is exactly the recommendation I was looking for. Cheers!
I have the dumbest question in all of dumb land.
In spotify, I was listening to a playlist.
I accidentally sorted by album.
How can I sort back to the way it was sorted originally by the playlist maker?
