I was just looking at Surface pricing. It's a secret?
I guess not anymore.
Got a question about technology? Ask it here. Discussion of hardware, software, TiVos, multi-region DVDs, Windows, Macs, LINUX, hand-helds, iPods, anything tech related. Better than any helpdesk!

Jessica, there is this: [link]
I have one, got it on Amazon for a lot less. The only downside is, it's not connected to the iPad, so if you are standing and want to use the iPad, ya know have two things in your hands. But great on the desk, or on your lap. It makes the iPad like a laptop. I love it!
I have a stylus for my tablet/phones, but since it isn't actually key for anything,
My understanding is that the stylus on the Note line is a Wacom-style pressure sensitive pen, like the ones included on traditional Windows tablets. That means the OS can detect hovering, dragging, and tapping, offer the ability of right-click-style work (either through a button or a long press), and use pressure sensitivity to adjust the behavior depending on how hard you press. Awesome for writing, drawing, and gestural navigation.
I absolutely adore my Lenovo tablet PC, despite Windows/Wacom/Lenovo in general having done a mediocre job of taking advantage of the stylus. When it is supported, it is AWESOME, and it sounds like Samsung is really working to support it.

Which just makes it more likely I'll lose it, because it won't just be living in the bottom of my bag. This is also one of the reasons I don't want remote controlled electrodes implanted into my spine. I will not make it a month without losing that fucker. It's is a MIRACLE I have my Apple TV remote still, and if Apple TVs were any good, I'd have lost it long ago.
Although, not official site, this one has good packaging tips: [link]
Thanks for the packaging tips, omnis. I have some stuff to send out and the tips are quite useful.
I sort of knew there would be trouble when I could feel the computer sliding around in the box as the postman handed it to me. The box was misshapen but, when hooked up, the system seemed to work and I WANTED it to work so badly, I sort of lalalaed while running tons of diagnostics and getting expert advice.
I submitted my claim to Amazon and have crossed all my appendages.
Is anyone using sync with Astrid.com across multiple Android devices? I'd be tempted to use Google tasks, but I don't even know if that stores all the attributes--what happens when Astrid invents a cool new binbangbong that Google doesn't have (yeah, that shit happens all the time, but still), will it be enough to transmit?
I checked off the task on the Asus, but it's in the process of synchonising (I feel it started when I entered that menu, but it's not done now for some reason. So the Galaxy Tab is bleating at me and the phone is knocking at me, because they have audio for missed deadlines. I DIDN'T MISS IT.
Okay--now the phone has caught up, and the Tab will get it soon, since astrid.com knows of it now--but it's almost always this annoying. I have a daily task, and I don't want to have to mark it done three times, or have computers bleat at me since their widgets aren't syncing.
Yeah, I have not been utterly thrilled with the Astrid syncing. I had issues at first with inordinate amounts of data for the sync, and since I'm severely limited as to overall data, this was problematic. That seems to have gotten resolved, but there still is more of a delay (than instantaneous!) than I'd like between devices.
I have actually killed notifications on Astrid as a result, which I realize is pretty seriously messing with its usefulness, but it was driving me batty with its extra reminders and the odd timing of "from completion date" recurring tasks. So I look at it to use it, which is less proactive, but less annoying.
If my phone wouldn't remind of something I already told my tablet I'd done, I think I'd be fine, since I don't have bandwidth restrictions. But I have no idea what really happens with a "from completion date" reschedule" when I am marking it done on different days--not consistently anyways.
I already have a metric buttload of tasks in there. I paid for the extra widgets. I don't want to migrate to a new solution. I wish it just did what it says on the package.
Well, if I have a 'from due date' recurring task, it pops up again for me on that day of the week, for example, whether or not I've completed it. But 'from completed date' only pops it up again after I've marked it done.
So for example, I set up 'take out recycling' as an every two weeks task on a Monday. I might miss getting it done this Monday, but maybe I finish it next Wednesday. If I'd scheduled it as 'from due date' it would show up immediately again to do (for the past Monday). But in reality, there's no more recycling to take out, and won't be until some accumulates. So I schedule it as recurring 'from completed date' and once I check it done on Wednesday, it won't show up again until the next scheduled date in the future, i.e. the following Monday.
