Um, well, we listened to aggressively cheerful music sung by people chosen for their ability to dance. Then we ate cookie dough, and talked about boys.

this happened to me when using a mifi. I got data overages up the wazoo.

Wow, meara, that's some major bullshit customer service.

OOh, yeah, that would be rough. I have a company-issued mifi, and have zero idea what the plan is or what my usage is...hopefully they never get too mad about it!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

These are interesting technology for the hard of hearing. They'd be cool if they worked for *life*.

So I clicked on Evernote's Trunk and got really excited for a hot second...and now not so much.

Wheat...chaff...all kinda looks the same to me from here, apart from Skitch (God, I love that program--I need it for Windows...). I thought that Kustom Note was a good thing, but it turned out to be topheavy, and then I couldn't open a note without an internet connection, so major loss.

In the end, I decide to make a notebook called Templates and just use bold and horizontal rules, and I still have a tidy record of my morning doctor's appointment. And I can see adding a couple more there.

Do any of you Evernote users have Trunk recs?

Or any other automation hookups? LeN, I know you like IFTTT--I'm now wondering about hooking that with some Evernote functionality to file some stuff more easily.

It was nice when I asked the doctor precisely what areas he'd injected and he told me he'd make a copy of the sheet he was using for his records, and I could just snap a picture with my tablet and drop it into into a note and know it would be OCRed as I walked out of the building....

I might not have a jetpack, but shit is still pretty cool...

I don't think I have other automation hookups besides IFTTT. I use gmail filters to send receipts to evernote automatically.

there are apps on the iphone and ipad that save to evernote - so I like that.

hmm. also: wappwolf will automate your dropbox (select a folder in dropbox and anything you drop in there will automatically upload to evernote).

technically then, you could use the chrome extension [link] for gmail (and has an iphone app) to drop email attachments in the designated folder and have wappwolf process them.

which is what I do.

I share from Android apps to Evernote, so I'm good there.

I hadn't even thought about IFTT being integrated with Evernote originally--I was just thinking of sending stuff to the Evernote email address. But I'm looking at it now to see what channels could be useful--it seems to have generic email, so that's good--Gmail isn't my primary.

Google calendar and dropbox might also have potential. I might be doing some experimentation in my free time tomorrow.

I was looking at tools yesterday that log into your electronic billing accounts and retrieve PDF bills, but I don't feel confident about the security--no overt reason, but I'm coming over a bit Liese, you know?

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I don't really like having a lot of apps have access to my email. I would rather put in filters to automatically forward or use a special email addy.

I don't really have a way to do server side email forwarding. I do have a couple clients always open, but it's not the most reliable. At this point, I'd magine IFTTT wouldn't fun off with my shit, but they could sure get hacked--they can store credentials encrypted, but they need to decrypt to actually log into your email...

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I just found something new with evernote.

on a mac, use the program Hazel (which is something I use anyway to automate some file actions) and I designate a folder in Documents. Anytime I drop something into that folder, that file gets uploaded to Evernote.
