We killed a homeless man on this bench. Me and Dru. Those were good times. You know, he begged for mercy, and you know, that only made her bite harder.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Kristen,

I think you should go with whichever has better service. My ipad is Verizon and my cell phone is ATT right now (I am thinking of switching to Verizon because I cannot get a good ATT signal where I moved to). The benefit of having both was that wherever I was, I could get a message out because ATT or Verizon should work somewhere.

ATT's connectivity issues have been a problem and a half. Then too, I'm tired of their net nannying: you can't do facetime calls using their 3g/fledglng LTE network. And Verizon has true LTE.

So, I think we are going to move to Verizon.

Verizon is not the greatest in terms of customer service, but neither is ATT. I'll be giving up my unlimited data, but at least I can send and receive text messages and phone calls.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Can anyone tell me why I can't get to Twitter with Firefox? It's been two days. It won't even load! I'm on it with IE, but it sucks.

I know there are several fit bit aficionados around here-- thoughts on the new line? I'm kinda tempted to get the new cheap one with Bluetooth, just because normally when I travel I have to wait until I get home to see my daily totals and graphs and stuff.

But the 4-6 month watch battery part would be annoying I suspect. As in, it would run out and be months before I got it fixed.

I'm torn on the Verizon v. ATT issue. I'm told that I'd have to do a data sharing plan on Verizon even though I'd only have one device. I could do a data sharing plan on ATT since I have two devices, which might save me money since I'm rarely using both my iPhone and iPad data at the same time. Because of the Canada issue, I'm trying to figure out if Verizon has international data plans but their site is kind of a PITA.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

AT&T's Canada roaming plans are pretty good, but I'm only there two weeks out of the year (and for vacation, so I have the option of just not logging on if I don't want to).

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I'm ok with AT&T. I wanted quad-band the last time I cell-phone shopped (2005 or so), and at the time they were the only US company that supported it. I don't know if that's true anymore.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

Hey, since we're on phones - has anybody tried CREDO mobile yet? Though they send me FAR too many solicitations, I'd still love to take even my pathetic little monies out of range of the tea-party-types. However, I don't want to be the one who discovers that they suck. I'm always one of the last (not counting my parents) on any new technology bandwagon, so I'm assuming there must be data available about them.

Also - I don't think CREDO badmouths Virgin - how do people like Virgin's service/coverage/etc.?

(I currently have just a dumb phone. I text rarely enough that paying $.20 per is not yet a problem, but I see where it would certainly be useful to be able to text more. I'm considering a phone upgrade but remain leery as my current bill is below $40 every month, and I'd rather not double it [or more] if I can avoid it).

Sorry, that went way longer than I meant it to - Anyway, I guess the point is just, any opinions on non-AT&T/Verizon/Sprint carriers?

Hey. New board.

If I were by myself instead of on a family plan with Meg, I would get T-Mobile's $30-a-month web/walmart-exculsive no-contract plan with unlimited data and texting (and 100 voice minutes, which is all I need, especially since I can talk over WiFi if need be using Talkatone+Google Voice). Since me by myself would be at least $70/month otherwise, I'd be saving at least $40/mount, which pays for the price difference between a subsidized vs. unlocked phone in about a year (the iPhone 5 unlocked will be $650, and available pretty soon).

If it weren't for employee discount I'm getting with AT&T and the fact that Meg needs more minutes than me, it would even be a better deal for two of us. But in our current situation, AT&T wins.

I liked T-Mobile when I had them, though their rural coverage is minimal.

Our wings are not tired

I've had AT&T for probably 10 years. I've not had major problems.
