Does anyone have a favorite online back up option for a Mac?
I've always been hesitant to expose my stuff, but to get my files from this 10.4 machine to the new Mountain Lion box, I'd need a LOT of discs. Time Machine isn't available to me, and I do not have an external hard drive.
Any advice?
any reason why you don't want to get an external drive? they aren't very expensive and they can be necessary.
If they both have ethernet ports you can hook an ethernet cable between them and use file sharing to copy files across. Check out [link] .
le n, it's about having spent all I can...wanting to get it done now, etc.
Not to mention, I will need to add more memory to the mini and the geniuses tell me that for the first time in my computing life, I can't make that upgrade myself.
It's pretty frustrating, no lie.
It makes sense that I get one eventually, but right now it's just not the highest priority.
ROB! *\ o /*
You are fast becoming my favorite tech support!!
I DO have an ethernet cable but I haven't used it for about 9 years.
I'm off to study the tutorial. Cheers!
bonny,
Oh I understand! glad Rob got you a work around.
WOE. The Tivo played almost all of an episode of Top Chef Masters before crashing again.
Either I need to send this thing to Weaknees, or I need to buy a new one. Neither of which are options I can even remotely afford. Fuck.
Even with the ethernet connection...super tedious.
Being on one system for a very long time...at least in my life...leads to a lot of junk.
Deciding what to actually move is proving problematic.
Why not let the migration assistant move everything? The new box must have way more space than the old one.
I'm having trouble getting the assistant to work. I've got to read a tutorial for that!
