Speaking of losing things, I am trying to replace my Canon Powershot SD890 IS, and I think I'm down to choosing between the 300 HS and the 110 HS. The 300 HS has really good reviews, but the 110 HS is newer and has few more features (and a bigger, better LCD screen). They appear to be almost identical as far as specs and picture quality, but the 110 HS has a shorter battery life. I was learning toward the 300 HS, but the 110 HS is also cheaper, and I could just buy a spare battery ($12 on Amazon). Any thoughts? I just need a basic point-and-shoot, really.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

I'm currently being very tempted by a deal-of-the-day for a $40 (plus $5 shipping) re-furbed Kindle.

[link]

I already have a Kobo (Borders' ereader before they went belly-up), but I'm tempted (or looking for an excuse) to do compare and contrast.

edit, 'cuz the numbers I put at first didn't constitute an actual "deal"

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Amazon has been slashing prices on Kindles for a couple of days - either yesterday or the day before ALL the Gold Box deals were for Kindles or Kindle accessories.

The buzz I've been hearing is they will be releasing a new model soon and need to clear warehouse space.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

That's a good deal.

Nook dropped its retail prices by $20 too, so I think things are ashakin' in the ereader world. Have I mentioned how much I love mine? It reduced my summer luggage by an entire bag.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Apple is going to release a smaller, cheaper iPad soon, which is why they want you to buy an ereader now.

Score! Er, or something. (Maybe I'm just glad I'm not the only one tempted!)

Hey. New board.

Ain't nothing wrong with Kindle temptation. I actually have Kindle touch already and am tempted because I kind of hate the touchscreen interface for page turning, and since I don't highlight or make notes, I wouldn't miss the on-screen keyboard...

Really? I love it and can't imagine using silly old buttons.
