Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

You ever get the feeling a company slid sideways into their software niche? Touchdown is the only Nitrodesk application I've ever had any use for, and it's AWFUL. Unfortunately, it's the only Exchange solution approved by my bosses for Android, but I've never seen a worse Android interface on any serious app.

Not only were they persistently uninformed when I tried to ask them about Tasker/Locale (seriously, we both have Google), but now I'm at their website because I can't find out within the software how to set my signature or change my Exchange server setting, and the help is in PDF form. I'm on a tablet, so it's not the worst, but when your biggest app is for the phone form factor, WTF PDF?

Also, really, I'm not supposed to have to go the help documents (which are 5 separate PDFs) to find either of those two functions. It's not supposed to be complicated, and using the "menu" option would be a great leap forward for usability. I would assume it's a port, but I can't imagine what it was ported from (and why they thought wood grain was a good look--I need to find a new skin, stat--my tablet feels like a station wagon now).

setting up xubuntu on my downstairs computer. Booted from CD. Created a connection to wpa wireless connection with proper password. Does not seem to connect with either infrastructure or ad-hoc. Thing is does not seem to be trying to connect and failing, just not trying. Is there some way to force it to try to connect?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Shit. The FBI thinks I might be a terrorist.

FBI tells net cafe owners that TOR users might be terrorists

Icecube sez, "Are you concerned about your online privacy? Do you shield your laptop from view of others? Do you use various means of hiding your IP address? Do you use any encryption at all like PGP? That means you are probably a terrorist according to the FBI. These are just some of the activities that are suggested indicators of terrorism according to a flyer being distributed entitled 'Communities Against Terrorism' You can find a PDF version here entitled 'Internet Cafes'"

I think the solution is for more people to use encryption.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Fuck - I just downloaded the new Mac version of Quicken and only just now realized that the built-in utility doesn't convert from iBank.

Help?

(I really, really hate iBank. Please help me go back to Quicken!!)

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Anybody have a rec for a good place online to get digital photos printed and/or framed? I want to get one of my DC photos printed for my office.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Ah, fuck it - I'll just reconnect to my accounts and download the info that way. If I want to see last year's numbers I can look at iBank.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

That sounds like a good plan. I think I tried to figure out how to go from iBank to Quicken and couldn't, but I hadn't been using iBank long enough to worry about it much. I do wish Quicken would sync with my phone the way it did 10 years ago.

Our wings are not tired.

Vortex, I've used Imagekind.com for high-quality prints (also used their canvas prints feature which look really cool). You can usually Google for discount codes, too.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Does anyone use facial recognition to "secure" their Android? Any tips on the best way to take the reference picture?

It's not critical, but I think it's nifty tech, and when it works it's very handy. But better than 50 percent would be cool.

As I move from Blogger to WordPress, and contemplate giving up the big G totally, do people have recs for readers and calendars (which are the only other products I use besides gmail)?
