Very convincing. Makes me completely want to put myself under government control. Please take me to where you can make me unconscious and naked.

Hey. New board.

I am using Project Vexilium, with a couple of custom icons I got from random ADW themes that kind of look like it to fill in the gaps. There aren't many gaps: I think there are 1200+ icons in the project.

It started life as a package for MIUI, but it has been ported to ADW/Launcher-Pro

Hey. New board.

Here's a link for Vexilium: [link]

Google is being remarkably shy about Thalcon; do you have a link I could see?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Here's Tha Icon. It's got a pretty good range. I just realised there are even more themes (some paid, some unpaid) associated with it, so I can continue my B&W theme for my dock. And maybe I will eventually find the right folder icon, but am I seriously going to manually switch them all out? Dunno.

Lemme go look at Vexilium.

Man, why won't Android accept Bluetooth transfers of APKs? It doesn't even care if I change the file extension. Just won't accept them.

What's the simplest way to set group ringtones in ICS? I've downloaded both ringtone pro and Ringo, but wonder if anyone else has any other recs? I'd like to be able to set group notifications.

Editing to add: what are you guys currently using Locale or Tasker or any other similar app for? Mine are mostly location based, but here goes:

Phone

  • shut off audio around either of my most visited cinemas
  • change ringtones, mostly for the hell of it, but also to be subtler at work
  • switch on wifi where I know there's a good network
  • change screen timeout delay, especially when charging
  • turn on and off hotspot sharing (still works with new phone!)
  • trigger notifications of location dependent tasks
  • turn off "less important" functionality when power is low

Tablets

  • similar to above
  • turn over to silence during sleepy times

Well, I'm about to bite the bullet and buy a blu-ray player. Does anyone have any recs? Warnings? Is region-free an issue for someone like me who's likely to have the UK Sherlock S2 discs before the player arrives?

If you want to watch those discs on it, yeah, region free is an issue.

When I was shopping, I couldn't find any reliable region free hacks for players I cold really obtain myself. So I went with a pre hacked one, which is quite expensive. Don't remember which online source, though.

Too many of those comments were "didn't work for me!", or I ended up not being able to find the precise hackable model for sale. So, caveat indeed.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

So far it's mostly to shush it.

  • During night hours, when at home and plugged in: mute all media and extraneous sounds except alarms and ringtones. I want students or family members calling with emergencies to be able to get me, but I don't need to be alerted when someone has emailed me spam. Actually now that I think about it, I may have muted the alarms too. Must check.
  • At school locations, silent mode (vibrate only).
  • At theater/church, silent mode.

Next up is to bring in some of the profiles other people have done up, like the one where when you plug it in it asks you: desk/car/night. Or the one where you plug in your headphones and it queues up your favorite playlist or whatever.

After that is Astrid tie-in. I still have some tweaking to do with Astrid. It's kinda not optimal, I'm starting to feel, but I think I can poke at it enough to make it work. And its integration is its biggest selling point.
