I'm surprised you can't mount them. What kind of iPod is it?
To show up as a hard drive? I've never had an iPod show up as a HD on this laptop, but this one is an iPod touch.
USB debugging won't fix the Galaxy issue. It's a known thing. Kies is the only supported method of transfer, and that doesn't even support all file formats. It's really irritating. The Tab uses MTP to transfer files, which Windows supports, and Apple does not. The third party apps like Android File Transfer don't work, because they hard code device support, apparently, and there's no post-Tab release.
Maybe? Sometime?
My fucking phone isn't working properly. Sections of the screen have stopped responding to touch. And not consistently. It used to be the whole screen, but I both rebooted and wiped it down, and now *some* of the phone works. However, I can't bring up the dial pad during a call, or turn on mute. Which means it's no good for work. I haven't installed anything new or done anything to the settings, so I have no idea if it's hardware or software.
Now is *not* the time. I have a backup phone, but it's not great. Not an ongoing choice, even if I get CyanogenMod 9 for it. The poor thing will choke and die.
But there are only two phones worth considering for an upgrade right now, and neither of them have a keyboard, and both of them are expensive to buy outright.
Goddamned cusp of the release period. On the other hand, both phones are severely sweet. But, still, no keyboard. I hate that I'll have to let go of that eventually.
So, I finally figured out what the problem was with my home internet. Apparently, the new cable modems have a built in router. And what happens when you have two routers connected to the same source? Why yes, it's DNS issues! the dumbass contractor didn't realize what would happen if you connected both of them. I seem to recall him asking if I wanted to use their router, but I didn't realize that it was incorporated into the modem, and he didn't seem to know that it would cause conflict. Argh. Everything
seems
to be working now, but we'll see.
ita, you were talking about cheap tablets, the Blackberry PlayBook is on sale for $299. [link] Same price for 16, 32, and 64 GB
Thanks. But I don't want to tie my sister that OS. Pretty much looking for straight Android, and unlike the HP WebPads, I haven't read that they can be hacked to run it. Them being dumped like that doesn't bode well for continued HW and SW support, I worry. And they don't have a developer backing like either of the major two.
Thanks, ND. I finally managed to find a guy who new what he was talking about, but I think it got me a total of 2% off on the iPad I was buying. I hopefully won't need another laptop for a while, but thanks for the suggestions.
Does anyone have a recommendation for a free QR code generator?
ita !, today's woot.com deal is a refurbished 16GB Toshiba Thrive for 279.99.
I might buy one. I like them because they have lots of ports. Heavier than Tabs, etc, but hey, good price!
