I just said that you're pretty. Even when you're covered in...engine grease, you're... No, especially, especially when you're covered in engine grease.

Okay, apparently my phone charger, which is a micro USB/USB cable plugged into a converter, works on my Fire. Woot.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Hey! That's what I said.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

So for Hanukkah my Dad got me and my mom matching Logitech C910 webcams so we can Skype in HD. The camera is great, except that the Pan & Zoom functions don't exist on the Mac, and the lens is so wide that putting it on top of the TV (hooked up to the Mac Mini) means I'm a tiny speck on the couch about 6 feet away. There's a 3rd party utility called iGlasses which fixes this, but is $20. Anyone know of a free driver I can install that will do the same thing?

I always knew pdf was not an efficient information storage means, but did not realize how much. I am making a screen res pdf mockup - 79 pages, 8.5 X 11 72 dpi. As a pure bit map, 1 byte per dot, that would be less than 600K. Now I know a pdf has fonts and all sorts of info. But that pdf comes out to almost 33 meg! Do I need to use different pdf creation software, or does that sound about right?

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Are you using a bunch of image files that are getting included?

Yeah - tons of image files. But aren't they included at 72 dpi?

Typo, have you tried doing a "save as" without renaming the file? It will replace the current file with an "optimized" version. Should decrease memory quite a bit.

The full version of Acrobat has a number of tools for reducing file size. It's the large number of image files that's making your file so large. Be default I don't believe that they pulled down to screen resolution. The PDF format has a bias towards print quality, not screen quality as a default.
