"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

How large an area are you needing to cover? I think you may find you have plenty of range extending the wireless. It's true that you need to have an overlapping edge in order to catch the wireless. And it's also true that pulling the wired drop should have let you do what you want. I am not, in fact, familiar with either the specific model or the protocol about which you're asking, but I should be able to poke around and see.

Pull and replace the battery? Is that a doable thing?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

How large an area are you needing to cover?

The current covered area is about 1/3 of the house. If I have to place each wireless repeater inside the wireless range of another, that doesn't get me all the way through the house. I'm still reading, but I'm dizzy.

I don't think they're user-replaceable. (And I'd still have to go to the Apple Store to get a replacement battery.)

Because books.

Speaking of iPods, I tried to charge Sara's and suddenly my computer won't see it. Is there a trick to this? Something I can reset? I've restarted the computer, etc., and the iPod still turns on (although it needs to be charged) but my laptop just doesn't see it anymore.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Jessica,

The only thing I can suggest is to swap out the cord and the port where it is being charged to make sure it is not a cord/port issue.

It's not - the same cord and port charges my iPhone just fine.

Okay, I'm really hating the LJ code rollout. I know cannot reply to comments on my own LJ (which has the default scheme on the comment page) in Firefox. Pfeh.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Yeah, the last time I checked early this AM, there were 145 pages of WTF on the feedback thread. Bottom line? The guy who owns LJ Russia bought LJ to be a proto-FB/Twitter for the Russian people. The features western users have been happily using for a decade are unnecessary and meaningless for the function he intends LJ to have. He's been derrogatory and dismissive of all protest. Hundreds of paid users walking off don't seem to faze him, either. DW picked up more than 21,000 new accounts today.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Jessica, there's the combo to restart which is menu and select, I think. And then you can press and hold play and select and it goes to disk mode. Then try the cable again.
