Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Thanks le nub!

I would be fine if I could just have the log-in to survey monkey, but what I have to do now is type the survey in word, and then sit with the person while she retypes into survey monkey and give her directions as to how to move to different questions-- Aargh.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I've been using Locale pretty happily for a month or more now. It's quite nifty. I would however, like a scenario of "in a meeting" to set settings for that. That's my biggest current gripe, and I'm pretty sure someone's addressed it, I just can't find out where.

However, things like my task list being location aware is really cool. I wish there were a plugin for Grocery IQ so I could make my shopping list store aware.

Best of both e-reader worlds.

Hey. New board.

Tasker could do this. You can make arbitrary widget buttons to switch profiles on and off. I think it can also read Google Calendar events, and potentially set "In A Meeting" automatically, though that might be more complicated.

ETA: Actually, it turns out to be pretty easy. As long as you've got your default Calendar App showing your events, it automatically sets a state whenever a calendar entry matches a specific title or location.

That's what I'd want. I want my notifications to be different if I'm in a meeting (quieter) than if I'm not. That shouldn't be a radical idea. But I haven't browsed plugins recently.

Hey. New board.

You replied before I finish my edit, ita !, so I'd point you back to my previous post. Tasker does it, it's actually very easy to set up. I'll be testing it in about an hour - I made a test profile that will pop up a notification once I'm at my breastfeeding class. I'll let you know if it works, though probably not until tomorrow morning.

Thanks, Gris. In the meanwhile I found the Locale Calendar Plug-in which uses calendar events as conditions, so I'm set.

Looking at Tasker, it seems it supports Locale plugins. That's pretty nifty. But since I've bought Locale for both my phone and my tablet, I'll stick with that for now for both devices. Until I find something it can't do that's very important.

Something I bet Tasker can do, and I haven't worked out if Locale is doing out of the box, is identifying a setting by WIFI network. I mean, GPS and cell towers get you so far (like to my office building), but the only way to tell my office from the cafe (11th floor vs 1st) is that their networks have different SSIDs. Locale has a "Train" option that lets you select an SSID, but documentation is for shit, and I have no idea what that actually does.

Hey. New board.

Tasker can indeed do that. It can find locations by wireless points it is near or connected to. The calendar setting worked perfectly, by the way.
