"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

What Cass said.

Oh, and it is bullshit.

And highway robbery.

Other question--if I get a new iPhone, but don't want to change anything about my plan, can I do that? (I don't have unlimited data, but I do have the no-longer-extant texting plan between "unlimited" and "none" (or 500?))

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

meara,

yes, you may keep your plan (voice and text), but you need to add a data plan in order to have an iphone if you don't have a data plan already.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Replacing an iPhone, yes? Should be able to keep your plan, no problem.

Going to a smart phone from not!so!smart phone can demand leaving a grandfathered plan because of the data, but iPhone to iPhone shouldn't.

My knowledge is mostly Verizon, I will disclaimer.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Last time I upgraded, neither my unlimited data plan nor my text plan were offered anymore - all they could say was "I'm jealous" and roll it over.

Yeah, I already have the iPhone 3GS, I just want to get the 4S, and not have to increase my texting payment (because especially with iOS5, I'm not doing as much of it anymore! But some people still don't have iphones, so...)

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I used to have a thing where I had a random number of texts each month (100 maybe?) included. I couldn't do that with the new phone, but I got to keep the unlimited data plan, which was FAR more important. I don't text that much anyway.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Thanks for the texting info. Now, what's up with AT&T's 4G LTE network. I know that they recently introduced it to Boston. Does the iPhone 4S use it? Or only specific phones?

Coding and Sleeping

There aren't any 4G iPhones yet.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

My G2 on T Mobile suddenly started sporting a 4G indicator with the last software update. Is it four gee, or faux gee? The hardware's relatively ancient (but I loves it--just give me ICS, I beg of you). I haven't even seen it split out on an upgrade path document.
