Well, quite a lot of fuss. If I didn't know better, I'd think we were dangerous.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

thanks! I'm going to check it out after I buy the thing this weekend. I'll add you once I'm on there.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

seems iOS 5 has the ability to change the vibration sequence for individual callers. You can even record your own patterns. Alas, it doesn't look like you can assign custom buzz sequences for text, voice mail, calendar alerts. A partial win. Maybe with the next update.

Anyhow, it's something you turn on in the Settings/General/Accessibility section. And then edit the contact in your address book and you can select which vibration tone you want for that caller.

I was playing around with that today. It's pretty amusing.

So, best idea ever or best idea ever: Siri (aka Skynet) operating like Tom Tom, so that Stephen Fry could tell me in a lovely posh voice that my text has been sent?

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

So any recommendations on what to look for in a wireless router? I have a small apartment, so a huge range isn't necessary, but I want it to be fast. How much should I expect to spend for a decent one?

I just bought this one: [link]

And have been very happy with it's speed. There are five or six devices on it at any given time, and it hasn't suffered in speed or use.

That one looks good and reasonably priced!

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

I got this one recently: [link]

It was cheaper when I bought it, but it has worked better with my Tivo than any router I've had previously.

Hey. New board.

ita, you mentioned you were running through a Lifehacker list for best Android apps. Could you give me a link to that? I have a hard time finding anything using their search feature.

I have started using Swype again, mostly because I installed a new custom ROM (running MIUI - very, very pretty - and with a custom kernel that appears to have approximately doubled my battery life) and lost the HTC keyboard so I was trying a variety of replacements. I am doing better with it now, though I still have to correct a bit more than I'd like, but I'll try it for a few more days and see how I fare.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Here it is, Gris.

I have just about everything on that list that works for Honeycomb. Some of them (like mint) I just don't want to run on my phone when I could be running it on my tablet. Which is non-productive and petty, but there you have it.

I would also add Grocery IQ for shopping list management. I just noticed they have a tablet version...time to install!

Oh, and I mostly do my app searching on market.android.com, because that way I can find out explicitly if it exists, even if it isn't compatible with either of my devices. And then I can push the install from there to either device even if I browsed there from my laptop or desktop. It's cool as hell.
