Yeah, I've never heard of it, Erin.

Got a question about technology? Ask it here. Discussion of hardware, software, TiVos, multi-region DVDs, Windows, Macs, LINUX, hand-helds, iPods, anything tech related. Better than any helpdesk!
Well, this is the series, and I'd be getting exposure. They have staff writers, and I'd be the professional the staff writer would be highlighting, a la [link]
So it wouldn't be "Lalala, someone gets a free resume makeover," it'd be "Why Getting a Pro to do Your IT Resume is a Good Idea, and here's EG to show you why and how they do it."
Erin, it sounds like you've already pretty much made up your mind.
Although I would ask for active subscriber numbers before sinking in all of that time. It looks like this type of article is premium content, and requires someone to sign up with their email address. Many people are too lazy to do so if it's not something directly related to their business/interests. I know the last thing I want is more stuff hitting my inbox.
Edit: And no I haven't forgotten about what I promised you. Trying to get it done this week.
Good point, Maria. I'll ask about that.
And yes, if their deadlines mesh with my vaca and my other projects, I think I'll do it. It would be a good clip for my site/resume.
And Maria, I know you're overwhelmed. Whenever, my dear.
Argh technology. I finished up housecleaning and flopped down to watch a little tv while the floors dried, and the receiver gave out. It was free, so. But anyway, previously, the hd recorder, the dvd recorder, and the dvd player gave out. Oh, and the amp in the other room for the rest of the house speakers.
Now for tonight, I can rig up my desk speakers for the tv, although it will require some crawling around and obviously isn't as awesome as 5.1 surround sound. However, for the long run I need to replace all those items, and it has occured to me it may be one item.
So. 7.1 A/V receiver with built in blu-ray player, either with hd space or network capability. That would get me what I need, right? I have a budget of about $300, if I give up on my compund bow/kayak. Lowest I found at first glance was around $500 so I'll have to look for refurbs I think.
Film gurus. Running an old fashioned projector holding an actual reel, if the edge of the film shows is it vertical (on the left or right side) or horizontal (on the top or bottom)? In elementary school we had a projector that this used to happen with and I remember it being always on the right, but all the portrayals I see depict it on the top or bottom. Is my memory wrong or is this something that varies?
meara--airport express will work, or you can use something like this if you're using it for your PC and/or your mac. Do you know whether your router is b/g or b/g/n? It could provide a good reason to update to a b/g/n server with wireless printing onboard.
It should! But I'll note that, with 2 wireless computers in the house, and an wireless-enabled phone & kindle, plus guests, it wouldn't be overkill to move to a router than can handle multiple devices on its service more readily.
I fixed my printer! I AM A TECH GODDESS!
(Not really, but I take my geeky victories as they come.)
