Oh yeah, I'm a big fan of autocorrect in general on both platforms. It definitely helps more than it hurts - it's just when it corrects something you typed right and you have to redo, it's annoying.

Eh, sometimes it's just stupid though. Out of nowhere (I can ASSURE you I do not type "A's" on purpose ever), the iphone started changing all of my "as" to "A's". Deeply annoying. The same with the word "the"? It ALWAYS tries to change it to "THr" or something ridiculous.

I mostly appreciate the autocorrect, as I'm sure I type on the phone much more poorly than I think I do. However, it always wants to change "noe" to "Noe" rather than "now". Which irks. Or is possibly a sign I should move to SF and talk about Noe Valley more often?

I have a Blackberry and a student named Mo. It autocorrects to Month. I cannot make it stop. He is even in my address book as Month. It is super annoying.

Also, as evidenced over in Gaming, the thing I can't figure out in Android is capitalization autocorrect. In general, I really like that when I lay down a period or at the start of a post it auto capitalizes for me. But there are lots of times when I don't want it too, like, for example, when I'm trying to use quick edit formatting! Or when I use honorifics. Or abbreviations.
Right now I can't figure out how to undo the cap. Anyone know?
I did finally figure out where my Droid's shift lock was, though. I was all, hey, LED I've never seen before!

On my android phone, I get around the auto-capitalization by typing the letter a second time and then backspacing and deleting the first letter. Which is insane, but I don't know how else to do it.

Although, I will say, I'm sure you all appreciate that I have moved on from my old phone in that we have passed the two years of wrongly faced smart quotes as apostrophes! And personally, I am happy to no longer have to type <br>& nbsp;<br> all the time.
