Is that for the HTC keyboard, or Swype? Because neither of my versions of Swype work that way.
I like Swype a lot. I still use the mechanical keyboard on my G2, but I'm quite happy with it on the Tab--I hated the default keyboard and the others I tried. And I cannot get the hang of typing on my iPod Touch.
The default HTC keyboard is where my problems arise. It's not a huge deal - it's actually how the iPhone keyboard works, too, though it doesn't hit you over the head with it with a "word added" message the way the HTC one does.
I could probably get used to Swype if I really tried, but I've been an iPhone user for so long that a normal tap keyboard is my point of least resistance. I'm really fast with it, so why change?
I don't see how really fast tapping could be faster and more accurate than really fast swiping, but I totally get inertia.
Well, I can easily use two thumbs to type with a tapping keyboard. Don't think I can two-thumb swipe.
Lack of Swype is my biggest frustration with the iPad.
I am having some serious problems that are, I think, Lion related. Seriously, my mac faith is being tested.
Anyway, I have this computer that is basically clean - new account, etc. I can't get Safari to open (it bounces three times and then does nothing) and when I try to reinstall Lion, it gets mostly done and then asks me if I'm sure I want to cancel (when I didn't touch anything).
Bottomline - without Safari I can't get to the Internet, mostly. Any ideas on how to make Safari work?
eta: I have managed to at least get Lion to reinstall which should get me on the right track.
ita, I've noticed bad info on Flixter and I don't think it had anything to do with timezone or location. It just had wrong showtimes or showed the 3D showtimes as the 2D showtimes. It's really a bummer, because I like their interface and it doesn't crash all the time like the Fandago app did (for me anyway).

You can one-thumb Swype! I love Swype so much.
Sure, but is one-handed swyping really faster than good two-thumb tapping? I don't miss very much. And on the iPad (which I don't have, but my mom does) I type with four fingers, almost touch-typing. My fingers hover somewhere in the middle of the homerow, and I can reach all the keys without really moving. I'm REALLY not sure Swype would have an advantage.
I played with swype for about 20 minutes and found that I was missing the word I wanted nearly as often as I was hitting it. And since you don't know if the word you want is in the dictionary until you've already tried it, and THEN you have to tap it out, I felt like I was doing double work a lot of the time. Maybe I just don't have the patience for it.
I realize I sound like the people who refused to switch to T9 on normal phones, but so it goes.
