What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I have Office XP and Office 2003, which is better?

I was resistant to Office XP when we switched over to it at work, but it does have some pretty cool features once you get used to the Ribbon.

Coding and Sleeping

XP and 2003 are both pre-ribbon. That started with Office 2007, which I have to admit I like.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

My Word 2003 has suddenly started defaulting to opening documents with "Document Map" displayed. I can turn off the document map, but the next document opened or the next time the same document is opened the document map is displayed. Where did that get turned on as a default? How do I turn it off , please? Turning off the map in normal.dot and then saving it give no joy on this.

Never mind. It turned out that "thumbnails" was really what was turned on even though turning off document map did close that view. But turning off thumbnails close it permanently. How, umm, intuitive.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a good tablet stylus? And are there different sorts?

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

for my ipad, I really like: Boxwave Capacitive Stylus. However, I do not draw. I take notes, play games, that's it.

I haven't been that happy with styli, so I've been purchasing some through kickstarter, hoping I'll land on something I really like.

Are ones for taking notes different from ones for drawing? I'll almost certainly be drawing.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

not necessarily. but I mention it because in my notewriting programs, I have had to adjust pen width and color to get the effects I want, which is what you will most likely need to do.

Boxwave lists that stylus as being for the Ipad. I know minimally that styli are cross compatible, because a stranger lent me her Ipad one to test. But i don't know if there are any specific to the Tab, and if there would be any pros.

Time to crack open the Google box.

In a week, I've noticed that using a tablet in public is quite the conversation starter, although everyone assumes it is an Ipad off the bat.

I am sad that there isn't Swype for the 10.1, but i guess the keyboard is pretty big. I am unhappy with some of the special character placement, and the implementation of the predictive text takes some getting used to. The one on my phone is definitely the best I've used, even though I haven't worked out how to delete typos that are "hiding" the good words.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

I have the 3M smart pen, which is nice, but I really haven't compared it to anything.
