Rob's news makes Thunderbolt much more interesting all of a sudden (as I was assuming it was another case of "hey, nifty tech that there won't be enough variety to support!")

If I ask my newly installed itunes to sync music from my phone will it erase all the music on my phone or will it transfer the music to my computer?
It will offer to transfer all songs you bought from the iTunes store, but I think it'll erase everything else.
Rumors that Apple is considering buying Hulu
A few weeks back I heard news story that Hulu owners had to divest their interest in Hulu, as they were creating competition to their customers (i.e. Cable companies)
As for the apple buying it? Seems to make sense. If the company has long term licenses to content from 3 networks, and subscribers on TiVo and XboxLive, and who knows what else... Seems like an easy way to expand their media distribution empire, and bypass some of the cold shoulders they are getting.
No clue how true it is.
Does anyone have any secret tricks to get iTunes to authorize my new computer? I've googled and done all of the things they suggested -- reinstalled iTunes, turned off account controls, deleted some secret file I don't remember what it was, etc. It still keeps telling me first that the computer's not authorized and then that it is.
do you have it authorized on more than 5 computers?
can you deauth one computer and try it on that one?
I'm 99% sure it's not authorized on more than 5 computers, and in fact, iTunes tells me this is #4 of 5. Until I try to sync my iPod, when it says I'm not authorized at all. Awesome. It's apparently a common issue (at least, there are a lot of google results), but none of the suggested fixes have worked for me. I actually haven't tried deauthorizing my old computer, so I'll try that, but I don't think it's the actual problem.
and you are sure that the same apple id is on your ipod and itunes?
I was just forcibly upgraded to Firefox 5 at work. FF5 is the reason I switched to Chrome on my home computer.
That said, is there a way to make the tabs appear right above the browser content instead of way up at the top? It's a minor thing, but it's driving me bonkers.
Right-click on the menu bar, and deselect "Tabs on Top."
