A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Apple never writes “Apple Store” on it’s signs – it just puts up the glowing, iconic fruit.

But do they know the difference between its and it's?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

But do they know the difference between its and it's?

Yeah, I was wondering that.

Or maybe the whole thing is a lost cause, and soon everyone will use "it's" as a possessive pronoun.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

Mac and DSL question: I had a bunch of trouble with my own DSL in my apartment. The signal kept dropping and only came back sporatically. I called the ISP several times and had technicians come out at least 3 times. Finally, I got a new modem from them and that has mostly fixed the problem, though I still get the occasional, brief drop-off.

So, this week I'm living at my sister's because she and spouse are out of town and the cats need feeding, and she has air-conditioning where I do not.

Now, I'm having the same problem with her DSL as I was having with mine! I keeps dropping and won't reset for hours.

I've observed that if I am trying to stream some video and trying to play Quench (curse the game!) it will drop more often than when I'm doing neither. Am I asking too much from the DSL? Or, is there something about my computer that is causing the problem?

I have a MacbookPro running OS 10.5.8. Could a software update have caused the ongoing problem?

If anyone has any ideas, I'd love to hear them. Thanks!

Our wings are not tired.

Quester, is this wi-fi? What security is on the router?

it is wi-fi, I have my home one locked from others. I think my sister does too. I can get on either.

Um, I don't know if I'm answering your question or not.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Quester, we had a problem where our DSL connection kept dropping (DSL modem, wireless router, Tim has a WIndows desktop, I have a MacBook Pro running 10.6.7). Eventually the only thing that worked was to manually assign an IP address to my computer. Now it stays connected 99% of the time.

I think the problem was the router trying to dish the same IP address to our computers and then they both dropped. Can you try going into the System Preferences for Network and manually assigning a IP address with a high number? The reason for a high number is so that the router won't accidentally try to assign it to your sister's computer.

Yeah.

I had a problem with my iPhone and iPad (so, Mac OS) but not the Roku or Tivo, when I switched my home wi-fi to WPA from WEP security. It turns out that I had my router set to WPA and not WPA2 and that was the problem.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Quester,

turn off the bluetooth on your computer first and see if that helps.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Oh, and then turn off your wifi and turn it back on.

The status is NOT quo.

I could cry. Just bought a Macbook Air a month ago, and now the newer, faster, shinier ones come out. I feel like shaking my fist at the sky and screaming, “KHAAAAAAAN!"
