I've really got to learn to just do the damage and get out of town. It's the 'stay and gloat' that gets me every time.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I need that app. I don't care what it does, I NEED IT.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Well, obviously, it helps you split the tab on a restaurant check.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

I got an invite to Google Music Beta last night and started uploading tunes from my iTunes music drive. I have way more music than my Google quota allows, so I'd like to be able to pick and choose which songs get put in the cloud. There's no documented/easy way to do this, but I think I may have noticed an UNdocumented way -- It seems to be giving preference to songs in my iTunes playlists! It's still too early to say for sure what algorithm it's using to choose songs (it's been 17 hours and only 913 songs have been uploaded), but pretty much everything that's already been uploaded is also in one of my non-smart playlists.

So you're saying it won't power my space ship?

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

That's an undocumented feature. You have to toy with it.

Once again, I'm looking to 'cut the chord' of cable. It looks like Boxee Box has gone through a major update. I was curious if anyone on the boards is using it, and what they think of it. It costs more than a Roku, but seems to have more possibilities. Just curious of 1st hand experiences.

Hey. New board.

I've never used a Boxee Box, but I generally find Boxee itself on a Mac to be rather disappointing. The plug-ins for Netflix and Pandora, etc, just don't work as well as I'd like them to, and I don't love the navigation system for my shared media.

What does the Boxee box do that Roku doesn't? Stream shared media? I haven't used a Roku since back when it was Netflix-only, but it looks pretty amazing right now.

Edit: I think if you got one of the high-end Rokus and combined it with this you could do pretty much everything the Boxee box can do: [link] It appears the Roku system has become much more hackable since I had one. If I didn't currently have both a Media PC and a Blu-Ray player that can stream video and netflix, I might have to buy one!

The one appealing thing Boxee does that Roku doesn't appear to do, is have a (limited) browser. So my thought being, I could always link to programs on the network sites.

Hey. New board.

Search for other private Roku channels. There's definitely some that let you view content from CBS, etc. Either box, you'll probably want to pay for Hulu plus.
