Am I supposed to be changing my clothes a lot? Is that the helpful thing to do?

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

Gotta love those d'oh moments. Hey, at least it was only with friends. Last week I was poking at new hardware with students and faculty. Couldn't get audio to work for a good 10-15 minutes. Going through the signal chain. I was just about to call tech support when I remembered, the grand master fader wasn't up. The student looked at me and said, "I seem to recall you mentioning that in the class. That at some point in time, audio won't pass, and odds are its the grand master". Yup. Happens to the best of us.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Two years after Cisco purchased Pure Digital for $590 million, the company has decided to simply kill off the entire line of Flip video cameras.

Not too surprising - since my phone can now take HD video I haven't touched my standalone camcorder in months.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Guys, I need to get a little help/advice. I'm going to be getting serious about this freelancing stuff, and although I have a free blog on wordpress: [link]

I'm thinking I want something with a domain name, and a hosting service for about $15 a month that can be tweaked. An email address with my domain name, and the ability to send out emails to a customer base. This is all really rough drafty thoughts right now.

I know NO coding, and I have no idea what intelligent questions to ask or things to look for, but I am starting researching now so I can have a site up and running, SEO stuff and social networking sites attached. I also want a site that can have a PayPal button set up.

Any suggestions, insights or "FOR THE LOVE OF ZOD, DON'T DO _______!"

Coding and Sleeping

I use Fat Cow and I haven't had any issues. They're a little less than $10 a month. I have three domains hosted on my account and have e-mail addresses on all of them.

I host my poor, often-neglected blog there I Play a Writer on the Internet

Our wings are not tired

I've been pretty happy with Dreamhost for my domains.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I use Dreamhost for my volume hosting domains, and Jaguar for the ones that are mainly just for mail hosting, and it works out just fine. Dreamhost is pretty solid and they give good response and have a great panel.

Jaguar's low cost, and sometimes strange stuff does happen, but they've been good for the email stuff and basic web sites. Nuttin' fancy.

Dreamhost was one of the ones I was looking at; also Laughing Squid.

Haven't heard of Fat Cow; I will have to check it out.

I'm also very happily on Dreamhost.
