Trust my rage

So, it turns out that iCal on Mobile Me had me in LA. Not sure how that happened, and it's only an hour difference, but it's a start.

I'm trying to figure out what size LED HDTV I want to buy for my bedroom.

I could get an LG 32-Inch 1080p 120 Hz for $500: [link]

Or I could spend $372 more for a 37 inch. I'm thinking the 32 inch would be just fine for my bedroom, yeah?

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

how big a bed room do you have?

Screen ---Viewing distance range
26" --- 3.25-5.5 feet
32" --- 4.0-6.66 feet
37" --- 4.63-7.71 feet
40" --- 5.0-8.33 feet
46" --- 5.75-9.5 feet
52" --- 6.5-10.8 feet
58" --- 7.25-12 feet
65" --- 8.13-13.5 feet
70" --- 8.75-14.75 feet

That chart can be found on this crutchfield catalog: [link] or amazon: [link]

I would think a bedroom set wouldn't want to be too big to keep illumination to a minimum, if it's a source to help put you to sleep. If it's your primary watching zone, well, then that might be different.

Our wings are not tired.

My new little Samsung in the bedroom is 22 inches. It's probably 10+ feet away from my eyes and it's fine.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

Huh. I think I'd want a smaller size than the low end of the ranges listed for most of those distances. And I have bad eyes.

Yeah, I don't think I want to go too big, and I like the price for the smaller one, too. Thanks!

We have a 32" in the bedroom. It is on the wall at the foot of the bed which places it probably about 8.5' away. I wouldn't want much smaller than 32" in there.

I have an old Series 2 TiVo and DIRECTV, and if I'm getting an HDTV, I suspect that I'm screwed in terms of an HD TiVo until DIRECTV and TiVo launch their new HD DVR.

Am I right?

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I think you are, sadly. I have the Directv HD dual-tuner DVR, and it's pretty nice, but not Tivo-tastic.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

There was a Directivo that was HD, but a) probably not available anywhere and b) a lot of stuff has changed since then.

HD Directivo is one of the vaporiest of vaporware products in the history of ever, but I still await its coming like a faithful supplicant.
