Situation: I have a first gen iPhone that is sync'd to a first gen Intel iMac. I want to upgrade to the new iPhone. But to do so, I would need to upgrade the OS on the old iMac. I'd rather not sink the money into upgrading the mac, as it's old. But I do have a Win 7 laptop.
Question: Can I take the old iPhone, sync it to the Win7 laptop, so I can then sync new (when I get it) phone to laptop instead of Mac?
I don't want to lose any data. The contacts and calendar are not on the Win7 machine. What? Me paranoid?
The Snow Leopard upgrade is only $29. I'd go that route and save yourself a lot of headaches and potential data loss.
Leopard to Snow Leopard is $29. What if you have 10.4.11 Tiger?
The "upgrade" still works. You can use it to install onto a totally blank hard drive.
Has anyone encountered this problem today?
Yes! Me! Except I guess I just got it last night. What is the solution?
Yeah, omnis, I tried to tell you Upthread--I did the $29 10.4 to 10.6 and it worked fine. You don't get the latest iPhoto and stuff, but otherwise no worries.
So, there's a rumor going around that Yahoo may be getting rid of Delicious. [link] Anyone know of good alternatives?
Wow, #delicious is going bonkers on twitter. Here's a site with a bunch of back up and transfer info with some alternatives listed. [link]
