"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I love stumbleupon. Or used to when I had unlimited bandwidth. Woes.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Ha. The act of typing that caused stumbleupon to reach out through the internets and inform me that it missed me.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I posted this in Natter already, but it seems to fit here too--does anyone have any experience with/recommendations for wireless rain gauges?

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

I've had both La Crosse and Oregon Scientific weather stations, but never had a version with a rain gauge.

The La Crosse was fine, and lasted about seven years. My current one is from Oregon Scientific. It's a little more slick and sophisticated, but the drawback is that the display is more cluttered.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Thing-O-Matic Parts Delayed by Mail Bomb Terrorism

Fuck!

Stupid terrorists - messing with my fun....

eta:

...

Then, like a cruel slap to the face, we learned about the shipping delay on our super awesome custom Z-stage motors. Our super special custom made Z-stage motors are currently being held somewhere between Hong Kong and customs in Cincinnati. Sam, our supply chain manager, is working hard to find out when that shipment will be released to us, but we don’t have any hard information at this time.

I hate it when I order things and they come late. Because we have a little extra time, we’ve organized a little treat to go in each box for each Thing-O-Matic Customer. It’s not much consolation, but it’s all we can do as we wait for the final parts to reach us so we can send them on to you!

Ooh - free treat!

Oh yeah, I meant to respond in Natter, but my short term memory is shot. I also use La Crosse and really like them, although I also don`t have the rain gauge. Definitely make sure you get the kind that is self-emptying.

Anyone use Opera on a phone? Sometime, Opera stops going to new pages and I have to close Opera and start it again to get it to work. This happens after as little as five minutes of use. But it might just be the phone.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

This looks like a pretty good deal to me. What do you guys think?

Two issues--one, I just dropped my iPhone while it was plugged in, and now it won't charge (wall or computer) and when I plug in the charger says "this device is not optimized for iPhone". WTF? Am I going to have to buy a new one??

Also, even if it works again--work is cracking down on USB drives and mp3 Players. So, I need a way other than direct synching to match my outlook calendar and my phone calendar.

Eta: thankfully, the apple store is right down frommy hotel, and a quick trip to the genius bar later, it seems to be the charger tlratjer than the phone. Yay! Still open to calendar suggestions though.
