She's terse. I can be terse. Once in flight school, I was laconic.

If anything goes wrong Virgin has truly awful service. But things tend not to go wrong that often.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Virgin is the only provider I've had so I can't compare. The only trouble I've had with it is that sometimes an incoming text or voicemail takes longer than it should to arrive on my phone. But it's usually fine and I've never had to deal with customer service.

This makes me laugh since I often learn days later someone has called (t-mobile).

All is well that ends in pizza.

Are IDE notebook drives (well, ata/100) all but extinct? The Hdd on Andi's Powerb0ok is getting louder, and the one on this old 2000-era iMac (with handle!) is grinding.

I am trying to search for notebook Hdds on pricewatch and dealnews, and I keep finding most hdds of any size and format are SATA.

It appears the SATA revolution is nearly complete.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Yeah, I did have problems at DragonCon with my texts not arriving. That's the only time, though.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

OK, this is confusing: [link]

Interesting news from General Motors today that's resulted in some puzzled expressions at Engadget HQ. Since the concept stage the company has been saying how the onboard internal combustion engine was just to charge the batteries, that only the electric motors (there are two) are actually connected to the drivetrain. We're now learning that is not the case, that the Volt's gasoline engine can directly provide power to the wheels in concert with the electric motors.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

It's not a battery-powered car with an internal combustion engine that only recharges the battery; it's just a regular hybrid.

You knew this? This is the first I've heard that it's just an ordinary hybrid.

Nope. Just found that out from the article.
