Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

It's so freaking small! And the current book I'm reading is Kushiel's Dart--I don't necessarily need to have that cover evident everywhere, especially near work. I would totally buy an e-version so I could read my S&M-lite on the down low.

But first I think I will go with the Hunger Games books. And that Last Unicorn stuff. Reading books on the phone just wasn't hacking it, although it's fine for websurfing.

ita, the Hunger Games books are what got me through the flights!! CRACK! And perfect ebook reading. I gotta admit, I love that what I am reading being hidden really appeals to me.

oh that is interesting.

I have a Kindle and I like the ability to port long articles from Instapaper to the kindle. I believe there is Nook functionality for this as well.

My iPad is probably the main thing that kept me from going completely crazy during my three weeks in the hospital.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

14-Inch Kno Tablet for Students Says Size Matters

Kno launched the single screen tablet on Monday. In June, it showed off a dual-screen device that would have two 14-inch LCD touchscreens that fold in like a book. Both the single screen and dual-screen tablets are expected to start shipping at the end of the year. There’s no word yet on pricing.

How are you me? You need to stop that. Only I can be me. ~Kara

ita (and anyone else with a Nook), if you'd like me to lend you what books I have (which, admittedly aren't many since I use it mostly for library books), I'll be glad to share with their "lendme" feature. I think I need your full name, and I'm sure I need your email address, though.

If you find you're running out of power after a long time in the ER, you can turn off the wifi and extend your battery life a lot.

insent, Deena.

I'm missing something *really* obvious here. How do I read my own PDFs on the thing? I copied them over into the "my documents" folder, but I don't get where they show up in the Nook interface for me to read.

Duh.

Hey. New board.

Nook! I like the Nook, though not as much as the Kindle. But if I didn't shop at Amazon, I would definitely go in that direction.

I don't know how to read PDFs on them, though. If the PDFs aren't reflowable, they're not going to look great - just a warning. Did you not get a manual of some sort?

Touch the "my library" icon at the bottom. You'll probably be looking at books you bought from B&N. You will have a choice near the top that says, something like "Go to my documents". Click on that and you'll see the PDF, as well as the Nook quick start and manual.

Edit: backflung, ita.

Thanks, Deena!

Gris, the manual tells you how to get PDFs on. But not where they show up on the navigation. They don't look amazing, but they're readable. It's a definite step up from my phone.
