Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

All of a sudden, I want an eReader. A Nook is a rational choice, right? I'm fairly sure I don't want an iPad, since I'm good with the space between my phone and my Macbook.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I don't know. Why are you leaning towards a Nook over a Kindle?

Because I don't shop from Amazon.

I think a Nook is a rational choice. It also has the advantage of supporting Adobe Digital Editions which greatly increases your chances of being able to check out E-Books from the library.

Makes sense.

Can a Nook be used as a web browser like a Kindle can?

Also, the Kindle has a physical qwerty keyboard while the Nook has a touchscreen keyboard, if that makes a difference.

It can be used for browsing too. I think the Nook is based on Android.

Ooh, that's hot.

Yeah, I think when you're connected via Wi Fi you can surf the web.

I should have a look at the LAPL site and see if that works out for me...hmm...

Here's a Nook feature I didn't know:

Plus, NOOK automatically connects for free in AT&T Wi-Fi hotspots and all Barnes & Noble stores.

ION, I think this will be my x-mas present to myself: [link]

It's an improved MakerBot 3-D printer. It will be available in Nov.

Oh, Jesus. The Boy can never know this exists.

I resent the AT&T part of things, but at least I'm not paying them ongoing.

Okay, Nooking up! I think this is the only way to get me to read more books, because it's a simple easy way for me to be able to take them to the ER, where I spend a good chunk of sitting around must stay awake time.
