I love GoodReader on my iPad. Love, love, love it.
I don't know if it's still free, but a fun stargazing app with some nice functionality is GoSkyWatch Planetarium.
Didn't know there was a VLC app!! *runs to store*

Got a question about technology? Ask it here. Discussion of hardware, software, TiVos, multi-region DVDs, Windows, Macs, LINUX, hand-helds, iPods, anything tech related. Better than any helpdesk!

anybody have any recs for a cooling pad for my laptop? i'm tired of the damn thing overheating when it's sitting in my lap.
I just had to come in here to be annoyed at Rhapsody support chat.
Finally got a good tech, but am still on the web chat. Whoo.
tiggy, many laptops have power-saving settings that cause the CPU to slow down during times of light load, etc. These settings should make your laptop run cooler (assuming you're not doing things that demand a lot of CPU).
Pocket Frogs is my current favorite game. It is just awesome and pretty. Content does not sync across devices, FYI.
I mean this is the nicest possible way, but wow, are you evil. SO ADDICTIVE.
it's because the fan is getting covered up and it's overheating. i will never understand why they put those on the bottom of the computer. makes no sense whatsoever.
tiggy, I bought this model for me and my mom:
I've had it nearly 2 years now. It's a little loud but I don't know whether that's because for most of the 2 years I used the pad the wrong way (there were little rubber pads to install but I didn't see them so I used them without it - the laptop was directly on the pad).
aha! thanks, Spidra!
I would love to be able to pull all of my pictures off of my Tracfone-branded Motorola w376g without sending them one-by-one to my email address.
I've just renewed for another year, so I will likely be stuck with this phone for a while.
If anyone has any clues, let me know.
Most of the articles on the subject seem to be old or ineffective.
I can't believe they've locked off file transfer via USB or Bluetooth. Weird.
