Got a question about technology? Ask it here. Discussion of hardware, software, TiVos, multi-region DVDs, Windows, Macs, LINUX, hand-helds, iPods, anything tech related. Better than any helpdesk!
No - you can rip the video files with Handbrake and upload them straight from there. If there isn't a setting called "YouTube" any of the various Quicktime formats will work.
[eta: Actually I'm not sure if Handbrake will let you select clips or just whole chapters. If you're on a Mac MPEG Streamclip is my preferred way to clip out DVDs because you can set in/out points wherever you want.]
I need to buy an HDMI cable for CJ's PS3. Any tips or good sources. I have done some goggling and I see a wide range of prices. Does it make that big of a difference? My instinct is to find the cheapest one for the length I need. Advice?
I wholeheartedly recommend buy.com. i just got a co-worker two 6 foot gold-plated HDMI cables for $9 with s/h included.
Amazon also has a vendor that has very cheap cables.
This was "an I need it now". So I hit Target and got a 6' for $20. But, of course, there was a display of new DVD's and Supernatural's 5th season called to me. I still made it out for under $100, so I'm not gonna fuss.
NASA Hasselblad for sale
EBay seller Photo-arsenal-worldwide is flogging this mint-in-package NASA Hasselblad camera; bidding now stands at nearly $34,000. I love how everything in space looks like it was descended from a Tonka truck.
