To commemorate a past event, you kill and eat an animal. It's a ritual sacrifice, with pie.

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

I would certainly hope it would last more than 2 years.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

So wait. This CCCleaner and Smart Defrag could make my parents' old XP computer not suck? I don't understand what the problem is, because I don't think they are running new programs, so shouldn't it be OK? I was planning on getting them a new one for Christmas, but will give these programs a shot first!

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

They will make it suck less. You can decide if improvement is enough after you install and run. Again don't be tricked into toolbars. Don't let ccleaner clean office or word cause will lose all your settings.

I doubt they have any non-standard settings, but thanks for the warning.

Coding and Sleeping

I've also found that security software can really slog down a computer. I tend to just run with Microsoft Security Essentials which seems very good at being unobtrusive.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I think that is part of the problem, but I think my father is prone to clicking on bad stuff, so I don't want to strip it down too much.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Gosh darnit, there's still no 128GB iPod touch....

On the bright side - new iTunes icon!

iTunes 10. With iTunes set to surpass physical CD sales next year, so new icon with no CD.

And I'll have to experiment with this stuff:

Social features: New feature called Ping. Facebook and Twitter meet iTunes...social network for music. Follow favorite artists and friends, find out what they're listening to and talking about. Customized top-ten songs and albums lists based on the people you follow. Showing off artist page for Lady Gaga with posts, favorite songs, concerts, etc.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Aw, the new Apple TV is adorable!

Ditto the new Nano.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

There's a new Apple TV? What for? I have an Apple TV, and it's of dubious inherent value.
