Thanks Typo.
I found the video in options you mention within Skype but it continues to tell me that there is no camera available. This, despite both the firewire and usb cords being attached. So. It's definitely not Skype's issue. Somehow, the computer isn't grasping the concept.
I've done the standard, turning everything off and back on again, wiggling cords, etc. Ergh.
HTC Evo vs iPhone 4
This is the one from the Best Buy employee who was fired over it and then offered his job back when Best Buy realized that firing him had been a bad PR move. It is comedy GOLD.
HTC Evo vs iPhone 4
That is hilarious.
"It has an app that will build you an island...then it transforms into a fucking jet and flies you there."
I think I linked that one above, and it's other one Iphone vs. Android.

Get Wildcard Suggestions with a Google Autocomplete Trick
Google's autocomplete is a handy tool for both saving time and getting a feel for what people are searching. Reader scantorscantor points out a cool trick for getting a bit more from the autocomplete.
Normally, Google only autocompletes the end of a search query. If you type in a phrase and then delete the middle, though, it'll autocomplete at the place you deleted, leaving the end intact.
I am syncing my new iPhone! Hooray! (Except I really wish the iEmployee who I originally made the reservation with hadn't told me that I could pick up the phone on the next business day, because if I'd known that going to get it on a Sunday had been an option I would not have picked the 59th St store. Oh well.)
I need a name for this one. My previous iThings have all been shipboard computers - Dora, HAL, Holly. I'm considering Eddie for this one, but I'm open to suggestions.
Eddie is a good one.
There's also Minerva, Kendy, and Emerac!
