And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

My 3G hasn't needed to be restarted (yet), but music playback has gone to shit. Tons of skipping.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

It restarted on its own, I haven't done it manually.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

A friend is going to be traveling in the Amazon for work. So she is getting a sattelite phone, and solar charger. Since all power for phone and computer will come from the solar charger she is looking for a laptop with extended battery life that can run for eight or tweleve hours off what would be a four hour charge for a normal laptop. General use, not e-reader, but on the other hand super capabilities not needed. First thought was netbook, but it looks like many netbooks actually have fairly lousy battery life. So general purpose lapton (Window or Mac) with really exceptional battery life, and battery life prioritized over other factors. Not that memory, disk space and processor speed are not welcome just that battery life comes first. Um and ability to stand up to hot humid conditions, cause no air conditioning for the next six months, and probably no temperatures below 90 degrees and no humidity less than absurd.

One of those "one laptop per child" laptops maybe? Aren't those supposed to be going to Africa? You'd think they'd build them with good battery life and for heat...It wouldn't be very swanky, but...

Seriously, though, does she know any colleagues who are already down there/came back? They probably at least know what DOESN"T work.

And then you could buy a couple of replacement batteries. [link]

Macbooks have good battery life, but I'm pretty sure you can't get replacement batteries.
