The new PC doesn't work. The same monitor that worked on the old PC worked fine on this one until yesterday, when everything stopped working.

The new PC will turn on and off, at least by the sound and the light on the On button, but won't recognize the monitor or the HDMI TV which was happily hooked up as a second monitor. The new PC makes one tiny beep when turned on with the On button.

Anyone have any advice about using Google Analytics? My boss - and her boss - want to get web traffic information and are too cheap to pay for anything (I mean ANYTHING ... aside from my time). I'm a little hesitant about it.

Comments?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

What are your hesitations? Our corporate guys have used it, rather than get into the shenanigans of host-based activity reports.

I thought I'd get some advice before we jumped in - if others have used it for corporate website without problems, if there had been problems, etc.

I mean, why have a hivemind technology thread if I'm not going to use it?

Thanks for the info!

Our website guys had a hesitation because of the idea that Google would have their info (we're in the financial industry and kinda possessive), but in the end they seem very happy with what they have. If we ever get a host with a decent free package we'll switch away, but so far it's been the best free offering.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

We're not corporate, but we're kinda freaks about where the data goes, and people use GA extensively without any problems. I think the main looniversity site still uses a whole fancy paid bizness, mostly because they already had a contract, but for things like the individual schools/departments/projects that I deal with more often, it's dead easy and way better than the other free things out there.

Yeah, we used to use Web Trends, then we switched hosts and they ran Web Trends reports for us, then we took the hosting in-house and ... didn't have anything. There's nothing in the budget and our web tech support company had some time left in our allotted hours. So ....

Thanks again again!
