I bought a Westinghouse four years ago, and now there is a noticeable dark splotch on the screen. I'm trying to see how long I will put up with it before I give in and get a new TV.

I have three Samsungs panels and a Dynex. The Dynex is fine for a i Budget panel but the Samsungs blow it away. I've installed quite a few brands over the past few years and really recommend the Samsungs.
I've got a Phillips flat panel in the living room that I bought off of Craigslist for $250 and it's fantastic. But if I buy a small flat panel for the bedroom, it'll likely be a Samsung.
Roku upgraded its OS and now you can search all of Netflix instant catalog directly on the tv. It's pretty cool no longer being limited to what I've put in the instant queueueue. I use the Wii in the living room for instant streaming and I hate the interface. I do most of my Roku-watching in the bedroom anyway - "Friday Night Lights" is my nighttime ritual before sleep now.
So you people have me thinking about a flat screen again :)
I was looking online, and can't see the difference between this at best buy [link]
and this at costco [link]
except maybe the hdmi inputs. But since all I'll ever hook up to it are a tivo and maybe a DVD player, why do I need 4?
Looks like they both have 4 HDMI inputs, so I don't think that's the difference (I didn't look through the rest of the description).
ETA: The Costco model is actually an LED LCD. The Best Buy is just LCD.

Is that $400 worth of difference?
We have one LCD with LED backlighting and there is a difference. Mainly it is in the contrast ratio. With LED backlighting the black level on the panel is excellent. Without it even a total blackout can have a bit if a grey tinge to it.
Did the 1st gen iPod Touch not have speakers? My parents gave Ellie an old one that they say has no sound (unless you plug in speakers).
Correct. It does simple alert and alarm tones only.
