The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Fixed now. (I removed the "?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+wired%2Findex+%28Wired%3A+Index+3+%28Top+Stories+2%29%29&utm_content=Google+Reader" from the URL but screwed it up.)

Has this been mentioned in another thread?

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I'm thinking about getting a Palm Pre Plus, in part so I can use it as WiFi hotspot so my Touch (and eventual iPad -more of a dream than a plan, but ooh I want one) can do networky things. Anybody know how well that works?

Hey. New board.

I mostly use spotlight to launch apps, which I like for it's Quiksilverness, so I'm a little whatever on app folders.

It works quite well. I'll be using one for that purpose this weekend, since the regular Sprint Pre I use as my personal phone doesn't offer the mobile hotspot feature.

I have to confess that I work at Palm on the software for the Pre, so I'm not completely objective, but I don't think you'll be unhappy with it.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

My Dell monitor, which is about 5 years old, was working fine yesterday and not exhibiting any portents of doom. I turned it off last night. This morning, I pushed the button and there was nothing. I've tried replugging in all the connections and tried it on different electrical outlets. The On button doesn't seem to be pushing in. Anyone have any other ideas before I call time of death?

All is well that ends in pizza.

Is it a flat panel, Ginger? What model?

Yes, it's an LCD. Dell 1907FP.

eta: Thanks for mentioning the model number. It hadn't occurred to me to look it up, because I have no brain. It looks like it's outlasted many of the power switches on this model. It also looks like some people have been able to at least turn the monitor on with the use of violence.

I'd probably use a toolkit and soldering iron, myself...
