Are there any particularly good...and preferably free...converters to turn avi into dvd format?
I've ahemed a couple of things I'd love to copy onto dvd but Burn is not letting me do it.
Whatever shall I do?
Got a question about technology? Ask it here. Discussion of hardware, software, TiVos, multi-region DVDs, Windows, Macs, LINUX, hand-helds, iPods, anything tech related. Better than any helpdesk!

you have a pc, right?
Any Photoshop gurus here? I have a picture (link) that has a datestamp on it, which I'd like to remove. Is that possible? I mean, I know I can crop it out, but I am wondering if it's possible to not have to crop? Help please?
(I am finally choosing photos to frame and put up in my place)
If you have Windows 7 you may be able to just use the built-in Windows DVD maker. I'm not sure about the other versions. Vista might have it as well, I'm sure XP doesn't.
Oh, sorry. I should have said. I have a G5 ppc Mac. OSX 4.11
Ah, well Windows DVD maker won't be a useful suggestion. I have a ppc iMac too, but I never use it so unfortunately I can't really help.
It's frustrating. I downloaded Squared 5, which is supposed to serve this function. It took a really long time to 'convert' the first episode of Syfy's Alice. The result was 45 minutes of black screen. Ergh.
Javachik, if you email me the high res version of the photo, I can take that out for you.
Deena, you're so kind. I shall. Thanks!
Some DVD players can handle CD's with .avi files on them. Trying putting in a blank CD or DVD, dropping the movie file on it and burning it that way.
